Word of the Day #4: Inflate

Inflate [in-fleyt]: to fill with air; to puff up with pride.

1-) I inflated the soccer ball before heading to the park, but somehow it was flat when I got there. 2-) The politician’s refusal to admit his mistake was evidence of an inflated ego. 3-) No birthday party in the US is complete without inflated balloons.

Word of the Day is a fun idea I came up with to help my friends advance their English proficiency. Perfect for students of English as a foreign language and native English speakers who want to sharpen up their vocabulary. All words and sample sentences are my own. Feel free to share the entries with your friends and make your own contextual sentences in the comment section below.
